Museum Trilogy
The day started at Anne Frank House which was a very moving experience. Such a cramped and disciplined existence with a tragic ending.
From there we travelled on the red bus to Rembrandt House to learn about the life and art works of a master. Kathy learnt all about Rembrandt's etchings and is full of ideas for Year 2 art!
After a brief stop for a drink at a sidewalk cafe, where we watched the world go by, it was on to the Van Gogh Museum.
According to Kathy, the Van Gogh Museum is "the coolest place on earth". It was completely amazing, incredible and totally inspirational to see and learn about the life and works of a brilliant artist.
We missed the red bus to get us back to familiar territory so caught a tram to the city centre and then headed for the Red Light District.
As it is light until about 10.30pm here, it was a little odd walking past night clubs and live sex shows in daylight, but it was interesting just the same!
The girls have small doorways or booths with glass doors where they stand to attract a client's attention. Once they are successful, the curtain is closed!
