BUDAPEST TO VIENNA

An early start to cross the border from Hungary to Austria. To set the mood, our tour director played the Sound of Music CD as we drove along the motorway. Several of us knew all the words, but unfortunately the microphone didn't reach to our seat!
We arrived in Vienna at about midday and spent a couple of hours mingling with the crowds in St Stephen's Square.
Then it was a guided tour of the city, viewing magnificent architecture and bronze monuments to war heroes and famous musicians.
We explored the interior of St Stephens Cathedral before enjoying a glass of wine in the City Square.
Tonight we have sampled authentic Vienna schnitzel and are now off to enjoy an evening of classical Vienna waltz music.
