FRANKFURT - ATHENS - SANTORINI

It was an early start, up at 4.30am for a 5.30am transfer to Frankfurt Airport. We flew from Frankfurt to Athens, where we met up with Amber before flying together to Santorini.
As soon as we landed in Santorini it was very obvious we had arrived in Greece.
The temperatures are much hotter and the landscape drier. The buildings are very "Greek" looking, white brick with arches and flat roofs. The surrounding hills are dotted with villas.
We are staying in a family run villa, very close to the beach. The beach is a coarse, black sand. The atmosphere here is very casual and holiday like, with plenty of tourists about.
This afternoon we wandered down to check out the beach and browsed through the shops.
We sat at a restaurant to sample some Greek fare and stayed down near the beach area until late. Plenty of diners and tourists strolling about.
