SANTORINI TO ATHENS

A travel day today! We had a morning swim in the pool before checking out and heading down to a beachside cafe for breakfast/lunch. We had plenty of time to kill, so sat at the cafe for quite a while.
The accommodation place provided a complimentary transfer to the airport. It was a small but very busy airport so we were crowded into a small departure lounge waiting for the bus to take us across to our plane.
It was only a 40min flight to Athens and then a 30min taxi ride to our hotel. The driver was a very proud Greek who delighted in explaining Greek myths and telling us the important sites to see in Athens.
The hotel is very central and close to the Acropolis. We had dinner in a restaurant around the corner which was practically beneath the ancient ruins.
We then walked to the Parliament building to watch the ceremonial changing of the guards at 10pm. It happens on the hour, every hour!
Another long day in another new place, with more adventures planned for tomorrow.
